Windy Hill farm sketches

These drawings are a good example of our schematic design process. We always like to start with measured sketches and plans to keep things loose and let us explore options quickly and easily.

This old farmhouse is located in Dummer, Ontario and is a really nice example of a period farmhouse - almost too original! We proposed a wrapping porch similar to our Vardegaard house to connect the restored house with new modern additions that are sympathetic to the original. The outside spaces as they relate to the inside are always important in these projects. The best part of these types of renovation projects is the variety of spaces and rooms that you can generate and the new relationships you can create. Plus, it’s always nice to get out of the city for site visits and let the dog run around!
