A major renovation transformed this midtown Toronto house for a couple and their two young kids, adding a primary suite, living room and gym.

The design went beyond simply adding square footage; it strengthened the experience of moving through the house while maintaining a connection to the back garden. Instead of a seamless look, the junctions between old and new were used as an opportunity to shift and introduce light from two sides as well as from above.
