Originally constructed around the turn of the century, our primary architectural mandate was to restore the building’s heritage C-listed exterior while completely reconfiguring the interior architecture to accommodate a contemporary urban lifestyle.

Balancing Preservation and Function

As residential architects navigating Toronto's historic preservation guidelines, we carefully managed local heritage requirements with a desire for open-concept spatial flow. To give functional structure to the expansive layout, we employed visual focal points and strategic furniture arrangements to subtly differentiate the living spaces.

Interior Design

The completed interior leans into a sense of quiet luxury, combining a subdued, bright palette of pristine whites with alternating warm and cool wood accents. Honed natural stones and tactile materials run throughout the design, offering a seamless dialogue between historic craftsmanship and modern design.
